A wine from the rock. In the 1968 vintage, Sassicaia came onto the market, a bold wine that broke away from the usual way of Tuscan winemaking at the time. Named for the rocky soil from which it comes, the wine is naturally destined to go far.
 
The winery
 
Tenuta San Guido is the result of a very long tradition. Since 1942, Mario Incisa della Rocchetta has been working on his wine project with fun and a desire for challenges. So began the Sassicaia adventure, a “simple, vague experiment,” as the Marquis would years later call the birth of his wine.
