The wine
The story of Grange is shaped by Max Schubert's dream of creating a long-lasting red wine, inspired by his trip to Bordeaux. Despite initial rejection and secret production, Schubert remained true to his vision. Grange, named after the Penfold founders' first home, was triumphantly reintroduced in 1960. The timeless charm of Grange lies in its unchanged style, characterized by aromatic complexity, rich fruit and ripe tannins. The 18-20 month aging in oak barrels and additional bottle aging give the wine a remarkable evolution with rounded tannins and increasing complexity. Today, Grange is considered an icon of Australia and embodies the consistency of an exceptional wine style.
