The wine

Located between the picturesque villages of Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet, the Grand Cru vineyard of Bâtard-Montrachet is home to the greatest white wines in the world. Only a small country road separates this 11.86 hectare vineyard from the large Montrachet itself. Its gentle, east-facing slope consists of a deep, nutrient-rich gravel soil with a limestone base, known worldwide for the production of high-quality Chardonnay. 8 to 10 Matured for months in 100% new oak barrels.

The winery

From its birthplace at the foot of the hill of Corton, Maison Louis Latour looks back on more than two centuries of Burgundian history. Founded in 1797, the house has become the natural keeper of an ancient tradition. As an authenticity to its roots, it has always been a matter of honor to remain independent and family-owned. It is now led by the seventh Louis Lotour, representing the eleventh generation since his founding father. Each generation worked with a visionary and ambitious spirit to preserve this unique heritage while securing the future.
